Escape the hustle and bustle of Vienna for the day on a full-day private tour of Bratislava, the scenic and celebrated capital of Slovakia. Following a pick-up from your hotel in Vienna, transfer along the route of the Danube River across the border with Austria. Upon arrival, meet your local guide for a walking tour that takes in Bratislava Castle (situated on a plateau above the Danube) and the parliament building of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. Along the way, admire the monuments of the Old Town, such as the neo-Renaissance National Theater, St. Michal’s Tower - the last remaining of the city gates from the medieval fortifications - and St. Martin’s Cathedral, where 11 Hungarian kings and queens were crowned between 1536 and 1830. Admire the views of the city and river from Bratislava Castle. Then, after some free time for lunch at a nearby restaurant, return to the Old Town to explore more and purchase some souvenirs. The tour ends in Bratislava, but return transfers to Vienna can be arranged by boat, train, or private vehicle for an additional fee.
