Poiplie
The region bears the name of the river Ipeľ, great part of which flows along the frontier between Slovakia and Hungary.
The depressed part of Poiplie are surrounded by volcanic mountain ranges. Although the last volcanoes extinguished a long time ago, they have left great mineral wealth here.
