From Vienna: Private Day Tour of Devin Castle & Bratislava
2 ReviewsExplore beutiful Slovakian capital Bratislava, with a local tour guide
Jasenská dolina is one of the best known valleys in the Veľká Fatra Mountain range. It lies 12 km (7.5 mi) to the south-east of Martin, next to the village of Belá-Dulice. It is well-known and popular with tourists all the year round.
The most popular ski resort is in Kašová. The center lies in the lower part of the Jasenská dolina valley (2.5 km/1.56 mi from the village Belá-Dulice). The valley is easily accessible through the main road, leading from Belá-Dulice. The access from the village Turčianske Jaseno is a bit demanding. Close to the lifts there is a spacious parking lot for cars and buses. The northern slopes in Kašová are treated, visited by beginners as well as advanced skiers. The main advantage of this ski center is the system of snow making (several Latemar snow guns). There are various types of ski lifts in the center (3 ski lifts - up to 200 m/656 ft, 3 ski lifts - over 200 m/656 ft), which - altogether (excluding the chairlift) - transport 2,600 skiers per hour. Since the chairlift was launched in 1998, the transport capacity has been increased up to 5000 people per hour.
The 4-seat chairlift Enterprise has considerably reduced the waiting period of skiers: its slope length is 647 m (708 yd), rise 140 m (459 ft) and transport time is 5 and a half mins. All the precinct is lit. In Jasenská dolina has excellent conditions for cross-country skiing and hiking.
There are 3 cross-country pistes of the total length of 7 km (4.4 mi) in this ski center, 3 km (1.88 mi) of them are marked pistes. The point of departure is Kašová. Depending on weather conditions the ski season lasts from December 15 until March 31. Public transport runs all year round; on weekdays, in the winter season everyday (according to the conditions).
The ski resort Lehota lies in the middle part of the Jasenská valley (1 km/0.63 mi to the east of the resort Kašová). Its terrains are frequented mainly by advanced skiers. Although the slopes are treated skiing quality depends on snow conditions. The ski lift is 700 m (765 yd) and reaches a height of 170 m (558 ft). Its transport capacity is 700 people per hour. There is a parking lot immediately close to the lift.
