Open-Air Museum in Kolárovo

On the shore of an island beside the floating water mill is a small but well-presented open-air folk museum.

The open-air folk museum, comprising thatched cottages and some old village street furniture, is distinctive for its defense mechanisms against the flooding inevitable in riverside accommodation. The constant flooding is also responsible for bringing several artifacts from former settlements in the area and the open-air museum is often used by archaeological students as well.

Just next to the museum, a significant local attraction, a wooden bridge can be found. The length of the bridge has been expanded by 24 m (26 yd) what makes it today the longest bridge of its kind in Europe!
