Statue of Christ in Klin

The monument which rises up to 9.5 metres (31.2 feet) high, stands on the hill named Grapa at an overwhelming altitude of 686 metres (2250.7 feet) and overlooks the surrounding countryside. Just by standing next to the statue one can enjoy breathtaking views, not only of the village of Klin, but also of the Orava Dam, town of Námestovo and villages of Vavrečka and Suchá Hora.

The place provides you with a lovely view of the Roháče Mountain as well. This monument is a replica of the famous Brazilian statue found in Rio de Janeiro. Another copy can be found in Lisbon, Portugal. Its creator, Peter Ganobjak, is a local folk carver and the funding for this monument was provided by Jozef Sroka.
