Uhrovec Castle

The ruins of Uhrovec Castle tower in the mountains Strážovské vrchy in western Slovakia. It is one of the most valuable castles in the Romanesque style in Slovakia from the 13th century.

The extensive castle estate was owned by the influential noble family Zay originally from Croatia. As the Zays maintained the castle, tourist can admire here one of the oldest and best-conserved castle architectures in Slovakia.
